Sonoma Charter School

Mr. Van Wormer was born in Denver, Colorado where he attended both primary and secondary education. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1987 and served in Germany and Operation Desert Storm during the first Gulf conflict. After completing his tour of duty, Mr. Van Wormer attended college at Sonoma State University where he earned an Associate Degree in Science, and a Bachelors Degree in English with an emphasis on teaching English and History. He graduated with both Honors and Distinction. In 2004, Mr. Van Wormer completed postgraduate work in education and received his teaching credentials. He is now teaching both English and History as part of a Humanities block for grades 7 & 8 at Sonoma Charter School. He enjoys studying History, Philosophy and Literature. His hobbies include backpacking, mountaineering and watching classic films.
