Kindergarten/First Grade Newsletter
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we are now in the last trimester of the school year! We have recently completed academic assessments for the students and it is exciting to see how much your children have grown. Report cards are included in today’s Wednesday folder. We do not have Conferences again in the spring but we are available to meet with you to address any concerns you may have regarding your child’s progress.
We’re beginning our study of Insects. We are learning all about insects through songs, stories, poetry and observations. Do you know the difference between a yellow jacket and a honeybee? Not sure!? Ask your child! We had an informative presentation by the Mosquito & Vector Control District a few weeks ago.
And speaking of bugs… we have had a severe outbreak of head lice in our two classrooms. A notice has been sent home on identifying and treating the problem. We recommend checking your child daily. We are conducting head checks periodically at school also. Your child will be sent home immediately if he/she comes to school with lice. Thank you for your help with this problem.
Special request: Please check your snack calendar. We do not have much in surplus to provide a snack when someone misses his or her snack day.
Happy Spring!
